It’s a crappy day so I’m catching up on some reading and not feeling at all guilty about the yard work I should be doing. I haven’t posted anything on our blog for quite some time (I say “our” as it is as much yours as mine.) And that’s not because there hasn’t been enough scandal and controversy swirling around the Tories to make good fodder for “blogging”; but we tire of this stuff don’t we? So today my reading was of a more enlightened type – science. Specifically I was reading about a fascinating study that involved sequencing bits of DNA collected from bone fragments of Neanderthal man. Apparently we shared some European real estate with these guys for about 10,000 years. Because of that scientists have for many years speculated about the possibility of some “hanky-panky” going on between these two branches of humanoid development. It was exhaustive and painstaking work but the results are in: we all carry Neanderthal DNA in our genes! Our hats are off to the hardworking scientists who toiled over this project but . . .
If they had just paid a little attention to Canadian politics they could have saved themselves all that work eh?
