News about the Tobermory Trompers will be the main focus of this blog but not it's only one. I will include highlights from our Dofasco Golf Group as well as political updates that reflect my take on the run-up to the 2015 federal election. Your comments are most welcome as well as pictures and travel updates. Please address all comments to "Andy".

Of This and That
When I listened to Brian Mulroney thread his way through the pointed questions directed to him at the public enquiry, I couldn’t help but wish that I could ask just one. It would go like this: “Mr. Mulroney would you not agree that had consul for the government known of your business arrangement with Mr. Schreiber the taxpayer’s of Canada would not have been on the hook for the millions it ended up costing us? And knowing that would likely be the case, didn’t you have an obligation to your fellow citizens to be fulsome in your response? (I like that word fulsome - they use it a lot) ----------------------------------------------------------------------------And then on the subject of the new attack ads which I commented on in an e mail the other day; I’m posting Gabel’s cartoon on that subject. It appeared in this morning’s Globe and says it all so well! -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------And finally on the subject of the resignation of Kevin Page who served as Clerk of the Privy Counsel and Parliamentary Budget Officer. Kevin shone the uncomfortable light of truth on the Conservative’s fanciful reporting of all things relating to our finances. Not a practice that makes for a long career Kevin but I’m sure we’ll see you in a more comfortable spot soon. In the meantime, accountability, that much vaunted ideal of the new Conservative government, is increasingly difficult to detect. We would know more about the subject if it were not for the fact that access to information requests seem to be out of favour with this lot.------------------------That’s all folks but several issues are simmering and we will have to get back to our OEM’s once the smoke clears on the current negotiations.----------------------------------------AH
