Let me see if I have this straight: we have Stockwell Day, a cabinet minister who measures time in strange ways - the earth itself is 6000 years old and humans coexisted with the Dinosaurs? Now we have a cabinet minister, (Gary Goodyear), whose portfolio is science, no less, and this guy is a Creationist! To be fair to him, he is in all other respects an admirable fellow, wonderful background, hard working etc. but . . . no wonder the research community is concerned. It would appear that the "hidden agenda" is coming out of the closet. Stem cell research gets its funding cut and Alchemy gets added to the high school curiculum. Next comes organized witch hunts and a ban on dancing on Sunday. We're starting tio get the picture of the not-so-new Conservative Government in mid-life.
