News about the Tobermory Trompers will be the main focus of this blog but not it's only one. I will include highlights from our Dofasco Golf Group as well as political updates that reflect my take on the run-up to the 2015 federal election. Your comments are most welcome as well as pictures and travel updates. Please address all comments to "Andy".

Brave New World
We are only hours away from hearing Iggy's call on the budget but we seem to be in agreement that it will pass and with it the coalitions one opportunity to unseat the government. I watched CBC's at issue panel last night and I thought two things stood out in their analysis. First, Chantel Hebert who I think has one of the sharpest minds in the business, noted that Harper had agreed to refrain from using the threat of confidence motions as a tool to pass normal legislation - I had predicted that he had to do that if he was to convince the Liberals not to bring him down. Second, Andrew Coyne who is notoriouly right wing and as conservative as you can get, said: "with this budget they have effectively become the Liberals". I don't care how it happened, I'm just feeling smug that it did happen. I still think that it's a disgrace that a complete reform of EI wasn't part of the package. Dorsal will be apoplectic this morning as we enter this brave new world.
