YOU CAN FOOL MOST OF THE PEOPLE . . .

I might not have revisited the unsettling issue of the Action Plan Propaganda Program if I hadn’t been so impressed with yet another well written article this time appearing in the business section of today’s Globe. This piece written by Barrie McKenna parodies the nauseating “feel-good blitz” that is costing us tax payers twenty million dollars. All of this in the cause of priming us for an election that the Conservative’s would have us believe only the other parties want. Barrie has suggested in his article: “how about an ad campaign detailing our fiscal mess”. I have written before about the fiscal fairy land that Jim Flaherty (who I otherwise admire) presents to us at every opportunity. There will be no attempt to address the serious problems we face in the March 22 budget and Barrie points out that the “bait and switch is likely to come in the 2012 budget”. And to finish this rant I offer you this final thought, again quoted directly from the article: “Canadians deserve some honesty about the country’s finances, not a snow job paid for with taxpayer’s money".
