Looking For Your Election Predictions

In the last few years a group of us have had some fun trying to predict news highlights and economic benchmarks for the upcoming year. This year I didn’t get around to asking for submissions for 2011 and maybe that’s a good thing. Who could have predicted the events that we have seen unfold in the short space of time since January first? Maybe next year we’ll do it again but right now I want to concentrate on what should be the most important issue for Canadians – the election. At the time of this writing the thinking is that we will go to the polls on May 2 and the Conservatives, who quite disingenuously claim to not want this election, hope this time, to finally grasp the holy grail of majority status. They are counting on attracting the votes of women and new immigrants in suburban areas to bring them this prize. You will not be surprised to hear that I have my own opinion on what the outcome will be, but you may be surprised when you see my actual prediction. I will make my call here on the Senior’s Musings Blog by no later than April 11 and I invite you to send your own prediction by the same date. You can be as basic as just saying whether the Conservatives will win a majority or not. Or you can get right down to seat counts and commentary on why the outcome will be what you see it ending up to be. Assuming I have your permission, I will post every response on the blog and we will all see who is the most astute political pundit in the group – should be interesting. I’ve already started my campaign as you will see in the picture of the notice that I put on our door yesterday. (Just before Dorsal arrived)
