2009 Predictions

As the eternal optimist, I submit my contribution to the 2009 predictions from AH, as follows:
  1. yes Andy, there will be an election in 2009. The current state is a Catch 22,,,,,,the Conservatives have the largest singular support of any party, and the coalition is doomed because of poor public support. The Liberals will probably back off the coalition and accept a modified budget from the Harper gang, but that will not be enough to stave off the hard feelings that will eventually force the election. Of course, the Conservatives will win a majority in that election, and peace, goodwill, and good government will prevail for the next 4 years.
  2. Not a big follower of the Big 3,,,,,but I suspect it will become the Big 2 some time over the next 24 months.
  3. A barrel of oil will run at $81.37 on Dec 31/09. The threat of the hybrids will make for a more level playing field, and over time, reduce the demand for oil.
  4. The big story for 2009 will be an international one........Israel will rule the Gaza Strip, and the Palestinians will co-exist in a more peaceful environment.

Welcome Optomist!

Nice to see you on board. I will enter your very consise predicitons into the contest (I mean wow oil at $81.37). Keep wathing the blog for other authors reactions. If, and I stress if, there were any liberal supporters out there, or if, I had any real friends, they would be all over you on that Tory majority prediction - but alas it appears I am alone, at least for now.
